Afro Nation Portugal 2025 is set to be a landmark celebration, marking its fifth anniversary with an impressive lineup of global music stars. Scheduled from July 9 to 11 on the picturesque Praia da Rocha beach in Portimão, the festival promises an unforgettable experience for attendees. Headlining the event are Afrobeats titan Burna Boy, making his fourth appearance at Afro Nation, and Grammy-winning artist Tems, who will be performing at the festival for the first time .  

Adding to the star-studded lineup, Afro Nation has announced the inclusion of Nigerian superstar Davido and R&B legend Mary J. Blige. Davido’s performance coincides with the release of his fifth studio album, “5ive,” and follows his headline show at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Mary J. Blige is set to deliver a special sunset performance, bringing her soulful hits to the Portuguese coast for the first time . 

The festival also boasts a diverse array of international talent. Artists such as Ayra Starr, Amaarae, and Tiakola will grace the LIT Stage, while the Piano People Stage will feature Amapiano heavyweights like Scorpion Kings, DBN Gogo, and Uncle Waffles . This blend of genres and cultures underscores Afro Nation’s commitment to showcasing the richness of African music on a global platform.  

Since its inception in 2019, Afro Nation has grown into a global movement, uniting fans from over 160 countries. The fifth-anniversary edition aims to surpass previous festivals by offering a more expansive lineup and enhanced experiences, reflecting the festival’s evolution and its role in promoting African music and culture worldwide .
